Funny things my kids say!

Derric has had some good ones lately. I took them shoe shopping, buy one get one half off. I love deals. Well Derric needed new church shoes and Mikylee got some new sneakers. Derric was upset he only got church shoes and on our way out of the store he asked me "Mom why are my church shoes always black?" He said it with such disgust I just smiled and then asked him "Derric, what color would you like you church shoes to be?" without hesitation he said "I like the color red, why don't we spray pain them?" I laughed out loud. "No!! Black is a good color." "Fine" he said and that was that:)

We went to Applebees Wednesday night for Mikylee's birthday. They now have the wii games going and they asked Derric if he would bowl for a free dessert. He took the challenge and with a game face the entire time he won with a score of 142. He had to beat 138. He was on a high thinking he was completely awesome (Which he is )! Well, the Bear Lake boys golf team came in and they picked a freshman to bowl, he had to beat a 200, and they got free chips and salsa. The kid did it and they were all cheering. Derric was sitting between Michael and I and he started to cry. It took us a minute to get out of him what was wrong and he told us " That's it!! I though I was the best bowler." Michael and I were trying so hard not to laugh, but he was so upset because the kid had out bowled him. It was a good teaching and learning moment and by the time dinner was over all was fine :)

Call Me Crazy

Well family and friends, after much fasting and prayer Michael and I have decided to open our own business. No we are not going to quit our current jobs. Just add to our already crazy lives :) What is it you ask!?! We are opening a dance studio where I will get the privilege of teaching little girls how to dance. I am very excited! What spurred this decision? Well, the studio where Mikylee is currently attending will be closing in May. What greater opportunity to start my own studio? Well we are excited and pray all goes well. We will update you on the progress. I have the best family in the world who loves and supports me in ALL I do!

Mikylee turns 4

We had a great time with all the family who came to celebrate with us and I know she loved the phone calls just for her. It makes their day just that much more special. Thanks to all our loved ones.
Her request was Tinker Bell.
She had to try on everything:) Her new Princess dress, new clothes from Mom and Dad and her new pj's that Grandma and Grandpa Malcom gave her.
Someone took over Mikylee's new pink scooter, bet ya can't guess who!?!
I just love her. I can't believe it is 4 years already. Why is it for the parents that time is flying by so fast and we are wishing they would stay little, yet they can't wait to get big? I honestly remember bringing her home from the hospital and it feels like it was yesterday. My little girl is getting so big, she is asking to go to school already:( I have so much enjoyed watching her grow and become the sweetheart that she is. We all Love you Mikylee:)

Temple square and Disney on ice

I finally got the pics downloaded from our weekend in Utah. So hear they are :)

This last weekend we went to Salt Lake and took the kiddo's to Temple Square. What a wonderful experience. We were able to see the movies on families and Derric leaned over to me and said "Mom, I love my family so much it makes me feel like I'm going to cry! I just feel so good inside." needless to say I was the one with the tears. I am so blessed to have such great kids. I loved the looks on their face when they saw the Christus. Michael got some beautiful pictures but they aren't downloaded yet. Despite being snowed and rained on it was a fantastic day. I love my Savior and am so thankful for all he did for me and my family so that we can be together forever!

After a quick lunch we headed over to see some Disney on Ice. The kids loved it! Especially Jazzy. We had our moneys worth out of her reactions to things. Before the show started Mikylee wanted to get something from the vendors. We said sure but I was totally disgusted by the prices so I backed out. She was very upset and started to be dramatic :) I just told her she would have to wait until her birthday and Mike and I both new once the show started she would forget all about the over priced toys and enjoy the show. BUT, the very old gentleman sitting behind us saw her dramatic attempt to get a light up toy (For 22 freaking dollars) and he took it upon himself to get one for her!! WHAT?!?!?!? WHO DOES THAT!!! 22 DOLLARS for this, we kept telling him this isn't necessary, can we pay you? Thank you sir! He was very kind and the kids did enjoy the toy but this learning moment that she can't always get what she want especially when she cries, slightly backfired :( Oh Well, what do you do? We had a great time. After the show we were so lucky to hook up the one of my most favorite people in the world!! Genevieve Ruhr, we had a fun time catching up on things in the parking lot of Applebee's. But she had to go hook up with her hot little man:) So we took off and went to visit and old Mission buddy of Michael's. It was really fun. Their kids are very similar ages to ours and I think they had a lot of fun. Summer was so sweet and fun. It was fun to see how much we had in common. I just hope we didn't overstay our welcome! We didn't get home until almost 1 am. Needless to say we were very late for church the next day :) Some just thought we forgot to change our clocks! It was just a fun fun weekend! Much needed getaway!

What did I do to deserve Him?

Does anyone else have those days when you struggle with lets say "self-worth"? Well I was having a VERY down day for a whole bunch of reasons and couldn't keep myself from crying. My poor husband called home to see how things were going and I just broke down crying about everything I wasn't and wanted to be and how I felt I possibly wasn't measuring up to others around me, and bla bla bla. Please tell me I'm not the only one who sometimes feels like this! Well he reassured me he loved me and that's what mattered. But I already knew he loved me, but I still was upset. I tried to make the best of my bad feelings because Michael wouldn't be home until late because of meetings so I tried to carry on and not ruin my children's day. Well come time for Michael's meeting, he comes walking through the door with 12 beautiful pink roses. He had canceled his meeting so he could come home and help me work through some of my frustrations. We talked for a good 1/2 hour of the things that were dragging me down. Needless to say I love him more than he will ever know. He is there even at my worst and to give me the reassurance I need. My Heavenly Father has blessed me to be married to someone so wonderful and I just try to keep up with him! But I don't mind chasing him for the rest of my life :)

Jazzy is 2!!!!

My baby is in LOVE with Dumbo, so I gave it my best attempt to make her a Dumbo cake.
What matters--- she loved it :)
New Boots!!! They were so cute I couldn't resist and that clearance sticker probably helped a little!
Daddy bought her the Elefun game. She thought it was Dumbo and was completely thrilled.
We were blessed to have Jenna and Devon come over for cake and ice cream. We have loved having them here. I have seriously cried over the fact that they are moving, but even my tears can't persuade them to stay :( But we love them and love the time we have had with them here and hope their new adventures bring them much joy and happiness! P.S. I tried to get a picture of Devon but he kept putting balloons in front of his face.
Me and my baby! Playing some Elefun! and yes is was Elefun :) My little one lights up my life, I love her so much and am so thankful Heavenly Father sent her to our home!

Thanks to all those for the wonderful birthday phone calls and wishes, she loved every minute of it!

Just a side note Derric did most of the picture taking. He did a great job and we appreciate his willingness to help.
