My new Adventure

Well, I'm starting a new blog. This is something I have wanted to do for awhile, but with the news that my niece Shaylee bug has juvenile Diabetes, it has really made me want to get it done. I'm starting a food blog that has diabetic friendly food, healthier versions of recipes, and hopefully a weekly food menu. If anybody has recipes they would like to share or any question email me at malcomfamily@gmail.com. I would love your input and of course any recipes would be greatly appreciated.

Construction

We actually have more done than what the pictures show, but here is a few to show you the view we are getting! I'm so excited! Progress has been great until the snow storms that came through. But we need the moisture so I'm not complaining.

Funny things my kids say!

Derric has been having a few problems with having a sick stomach. I've been telling him he needs to eat more healthy things like veggies and his stomach wouldn't hurt so bad. Well the other night during dinner he made quite the effort to eat a few veggies. Still his stomach hurt and he was visibly upset. So I sat down with him and this was our conversation. "Derric, we are going to have to really watch what you are eating." Mom, I know what the problem is. I have "junk realities" " Junk realities what are junk realities" I asked him. Well junk realities are when you eat a lot of junk food and your body needs healthy food, but the problem is I love junk food and hate healthy food, so I have junk realities!
I think what he was going for was allergies, but his description was priceless and he was so upset that he LOVES junk food he was beside himself.

Mikylee's new number is Eleventeen. Comes right after 6 and before 19. I love the way she talks and counts. She also has been singing "Just you wait Henry Higgins" SO DANG CAUUUUTE!!!!

Jazlyn's new thing is to tell you stories - in her language- and she can carry on for quite a while. I sit and listen in amazement because she knows what she is talking about because she compliments each story with lots of head nods, shoulder shrugs, and hand guestures. She also can't get enough of dancing and I could watch her all day!

Saying Goodbye

My Grandpa Noel Allred, who was 86 years old, returned home January 10th 2010. He was a wonderful man and great example to all of us. We will miss you Grandpa!
The Service was beautiful! One Grandpa could have been proud of. Especially with military honors there wasn't a dry eye!

All the grandsons held the flag over his casket.

I got to lead the music for the children. They did so wonderful!
Mom visiting with Aunt Vernel. Grandpa's only sister.
The night before the funeral we had a dinner at just for the family at the Mortuary.
We had all the Aunts, Uncles, and cousins together. Guess how often that happens? Like never!

The kids found a spot to entertain themselves for the evening.

RINGING IN THE NEW YEAR

New Years Eve was not as eventful as we would have liked it to be. I was very sick with the FLU! BLA!!!! But we had a MOVIE NIGHT with lots of finger food and fruit pizza. We watched Night of the Museum 2. Jenna and Devon joined us for the evening and after the movie Devon was kind enough to help Michael give me a blessing. I went to bed and the girls went to bed but the rest of them stayed up to enjoy some WII action.
I know being sick isn't the most ideal way to ring in the New Year but I still count my blessings and I have high hopes for 2010! I love my family and know my Heavenly Father loves and cares for me. I can't wait for the memories to be made!!!!

JOY TO THE WORLD

Christmas morning was SOOO fun! Santa did a great job. ;)
Derric got his Indiana Jones Lego Wii game
Mikylee got her princess dolls
Jazzy got a trike
Mom got Black knee high boots -love them-
Dad got a gun case and a sonic toothbrush
Aside from the "GOODIES" Christmas was a wonderful time. Filled with the Spirit and Joy of Christmas. I love this time of year and to see the excitement in the eyes of my children. I am so thankful for the birth of my Savior and the opportunity to celebrate this time of year. I hope and pray we can keep the Spirit of Christmas all year long!

The Allred Christmas Party: Hosted by Trav and Val this year. Potluck dinner and dessert was DELISH! Thanks for the great time and great memories everyone:)
I posted a lot of pictures trying to get everyone who was there and I still failed to do so. This is a group picture but mostly of the back of everyones head. The problem is when everyone was together we did more video, which is totally awesome!

Dad got Devon's white elephant gift, there were some fantastic and creative ones this year. Dad got an electric plunger, there was a saying on the handle. I'll have to get it from Devon or Dad it was really funny!
I got the T-shirt Jenna made. It says "I went to the Allred White Elephant gift exchange and all I got was this T-shirt" Funny Funny
