My Baby turns 7

Kind of a hard start. This is Derric in the NICU. Born 5lb 13oz 20 in long. But he was a tough boy from the start and has been a joy from the beginning. Seven years has gone by WAY to fast. Love Ya D Man!!!

Here's Fiji

Looking out across the water from our resort
Looking out from our room
1st dinner provided by YESCO. This guy was really screaming before, during, and after our picture.
Michael drinking the Kava. Everyone drank Kava. One try was enough, it tastes like muddy water.
Getting ready for our river trip into the local villages.
Nice little speed boat :)
A lot faster than it looked!
Little children in the village we visited. We did a lot of dancing and had so much fun.
On our sunset dinner cruise. BEAUTIFUL

our beach we went snorkeling
Mike and his big catch :)
In front of the Hindu Temple. Mike failed the temple interview:) He had sausage and eggs for breakfast so we weren't aloud in. It was ok we went sight seeing at other places.
Mine is the pink board, OH YEAH!!
Mike after surfing. Sadly we didn't have anyone to take pics while we were out on the waves. I kicked his trash surfing :) He still loves me though! lol

Ian our surf instructor
Our group that we hung out with the majority of the time. Ryan and Mary Young, Matt and Michelle Wren and me and Mike.
The rewards dinner. We were met with a band and tribal dancers. then sung to by the children's choir.

With Mike and Karen Young. Such nice people!
We went to church and I got to lead the music in Primary. Again I'm thankful for the opportunities the Lord gives me.
Mike and I in front of the church.
An amazing trip. This is only a small amount of the pics we had but I hope you enjoyed them and get an idea of what it was like. We loved every minute of it. Even the massages that were so bad and my flashing the massage therapist but that is a another story for another day :)

Life as we know it

I don't know if I have any followers still because I am the worst at posting lately, but we are still here and enjoying life very much. Mike and I finally made it to Fiji. The plane ride was more managable than I thought it would be 13 hrs total one way. And I found out I really can't sleep on a plane :( The trip was amazing, the things we got to see...beautiful, the people sooooo nice, activities... a blast... but the best part was being with my best friend. I have pics for the activities we did but the surfing was AWESOME! and probably on the top of my favorite things we did.

Life since we have been back from vacation has been much more managable then before we left. I am working every other weekend at the hospital for a few hours instead of everyother day. The dance studio is going great. I have been getting a lot of positive reviews from my dancer's mom's. I'm am just trying to find a place to hold the recital so we are praying things will work out.

Derric is doing great in school. But we are finding out how much of a boy he really is :) He told us he had to sit on the wall because Miss. Bee told everyone to be quite. Derric just thought that ment no talking so he started to cluck like a chicken instead. Miss. Bee didn't like it so much and sent him to sit on the wall. Mike and I laughed. There has been a few other instances and it's like what do you do, he is just being a boy :)

The girls are doing great. They both love dance and it is so fun because they join me for almost every dance lesson. Mikylee loves school and always wants to do homework. She is growing up so fast. Jazzy Bea is a riot and she keeps us laughing. She has figured out how to push her siblings buttons and make them scream. She has no idea she is small and can pull her own weight when it comes to the things Derric and Mikylee can do.

Michael has been blessed at work and we hope to finish the new addition soon so we can have Christmas up there -But we will see- I found carpet I love, but again we will see. He is enjoying his church calling and I just got released from Primary Choruster and put in as 1st counselor in the Primary. So New adventures and I look forward to it.

I hope to post pics sometime. It is just hard to find the time to get it all done. but we are doing well and are Happy and Healthy and looking forward to the holidays :)

Summer Updates and Accomplishments

Hey everyone, it has been months since I blogged last and I thought I would update you on our life. We spent the entire summer creating a dance studio in our old garage. We are so grateful for all who came to help and I'm so grateful for their love and support. Especially for my parents who had some awesome ideas and the studio turned out AWESOME! I will post pics soon. I have been teaching class for 2 weeks now and love it. I have 25 students and they are adorable!! Michael and I celebrated our 9 year anniversary and I ended up working at the hospital for it (that's ok because we leave this Saturday for FIJI!!!!!) Derric started school and is now a 1st grader, and he is doing excelent in reading, spelling, and math. It is so fun to watch them learn and accomplish new things. We celebrated his 7th birthday on the 10th with a birthday party at the ISU bowling alley with lots of friends, pizza, cake, and music :) Great times. He is a big helper at home. He loves to help and take care of his sisters, he is an awesome big brother. Derric is smart, fun, inventive, imaginative, and very concerend about those around him. I love my Boy! Mikylee started preschool and she is loving it. She is a very independent child and tells me she can't wait to be as big as Derric ( I can wait!) She is spunky and fun and such a sweetheart. She told me the other day she wanted to grow up to be just like her favorite girl and when I asked her who her favorite girl was she looked and me and said, " it's you silly!" I love her! Jazlyn has stated her place in our home and in our hearts. She is a "firey" little thing. When she makes up her mind it is set and she talks in sentences now and I could listen to her talk all day. I also could watch her run all day she has the cutest little wiggle that goes with her run:) I am enjoyed the few hours i get with just her a few times a week. Michael is very busy at work and I have been working a lot at the hospital, but the Lord has been very kind and generous to us through our hard times and I am so grateful to my Savior for all that I have been blessed with. Well that is our life this summer in a very small nutshell. I hope to get some pics of what we did posted soon.
Love ya all

updates on life

Sorry it has been so long since I have posted. Life has been very busy and flying by. We are at the texturing stage of our home remodel project and I just love the guy who is doing it for us. Very, very nice man. He is retired and yet here he is still working away and he agreed to do our whole remodel project and I'm thrilled. (being retired he only picks up small jobs) by the time ours is finished it will be a very large job for him.

The Dance studio is under way. We now have a name!!!! Enchanted Dancers and we will be opening the last week of August. And I am now accepting students for the Fall dance year. So much excitement and almost more fear but I'm very excited and looking forward to teaching! I'm taking girls starting age 3-10. any questions about the studio you can email me at enchanteddancers.jjm@gmail.com.

We just finished the Malcom reunion and I think some awesome pics got taken. I can't wait to see them, we all had a great time.

Well, I think that is life in a nut shell. but hopefully I will get some pictures posted soon.

Funny things my kids say!

Derric has had some good ones lately. I took them shoe shopping, buy one get one half off. I love deals. Well Derric needed new church shoes and Mikylee got some new sneakers. Derric was upset he only got church shoes and on our way out of the store he asked me "Mom why are my church shoes always black?" He said it with such disgust I just smiled and then asked him "Derric, what color would you like you church shoes to be?" without hesitation he said "I like the color red, why don't we spray pain them?" I laughed out loud. "No!! Black is a good color." "Fine" he said and that was that:)

We went to Applebees Wednesday night for Mikylee's birthday. They now have the wii games going and they asked Derric if he would bowl for a free dessert. He took the challenge and with a game face the entire time he won with a score of 142. He had to beat 138. He was on a high thinking he was completely awesome (Which he is )! Well, the Bear Lake boys golf team came in and they picked a freshman to bowl, he had to beat a 200, and they got free chips and salsa. The kid did it and they were all cheering. Derric was sitting between Michael and I and he started to cry. It took us a minute to get out of him what was wrong and he told us " That's it!! I though I was the best bowler." Michael and I were trying so hard not to laugh, but he was so upset because the kid had out bowled him. It was a good teaching and learning moment and by the time dinner was over all was fine :)

Call Me Crazy

Well family and friends, after much fasting and prayer Michael and I have decided to open our own business. No we are not going to quit our current jobs. Just add to our already crazy lives :) What is it you ask!?! We are opening a dance studio where I will get the privilege of teaching little girls how to dance. I am very excited! What spurred this decision? Well, the studio where Mikylee is currently attending will be closing in May. What greater opportunity to start my own studio? Well we are excited and pray all goes well. We will update you on the progress. I have the best family in the world who loves and supports me in ALL I do!
